Some photos from the media department's pikkujoulut last week! :) I realized that I haven't been posting here too much again.. he he.. so have some party-shots..! (sorry for the lack of artsyness and the amount of hipster.. but these photos were taken just for fun)

I'm planning on posting a tokyo-kyoto-spam here sometime soon : D maybe I'll have time during christmas! I still have some un-scanned films..

Tomorrow I have to go to school (during my autumn-vacation!) to prove that I speak Finnish... I've only lived here all my life and speak Finnish with one of my parents and half of my relatives, and wrote an L in the matriculation exam. Oh and all our classes are in Finnish :' D
But if this means I'm getting out of the "second-languge-courses" (i don't even know what to call them) of basic Finnish or Swedish I'm all in!

Although like someone said, don't we have any benefit at all of our matriculation exams?? I just prepared for them for like 3 years (okay maybe not), and after they're over they are just... over. Didn't help me to get in to any school or anything, because they were all judged on entrance exams.
Well I hope that sometime in the unknown future my papers will save me... :p


p.s. random engrish encountered around asia makes me happy for no reason at all :' D

p.s. after using the school'd full-frame camera (d mark 5 or something.. trolol canon...) I don't think I'll be able to love my own D90 the way I have. *sob*

I shot it during our stay when I had a high fever for almost 2 weeks and couldn't do anything..

On another note, I just finished Haruki Murakami's book 1Q84. The book itself was a small disappointment, but I find the name fascinating enough.

Hey it's been a while again.. : D
Let's pretend I'm writing this about 2 month ago?

In the end of August school started and everything was new and exciting!
New school and new people, and I finally got to study what I really wanted at university level.

After all the intro- & freshmenstuff we had our first course, camera obscura and pinhole camera, in other words starting from the absolute basics. ;)

Truly Tuuli

Today Tuuli came over to my place and we sat in front of my comp for roughly 7 hours editing photos from our last photo shoot. It was nice to be doing something like actually finishing a set of photos, since the un-edited ones have a tendency to just multiply silently on my hard-drive..
Anyways we got a lot of shit done, and I also helped her update her blog's look a bit, so go take a look at Truly Tuuli. ;)

TaiK and Tokyo

Again, it's been a while!
A lot has happened since the last time I wrote here, shame on me for not updating regularly..
As for one, I am not moving to England this autumn! I'm not sure if these are good or bad news..:D
But instead I will be attending Aalto University Taiteiden ja suunnittelun korkeakoulu's Photography course. I really didn't expect to be accepted there.. : o
I got also accepted to Lahden Muotoiluinstituutti, and it was a really hard choice, but I ended up accepting taik's offer.

Tomorrow I'm off for Japan for almost a month, it's gonna be awesummmee! I already have my cameras and film packed!! First we'll be in Tokyo for almost 3 weeks and then we'll tour through Kyoto and Osaka, and fly home from Osaka. So lots of pictures will be taken!

I hope there will be more frequent updates after I get my new laptop, everything I do feels like I'm slushing through mud with this one. I have so much good material on my hard-drive, but processing and editing images is a nightmare right now : ( also I have a pack of undeveloped film just waiting in a corner of my room..

I love the light in Helena's apartment! I've told her that before too and I'm saying it again : D (i hope I'm not creeping someone out) The light from outside comes from one big window and reflects with different colors depending on the time of the day. Inside it bounces of the white walls and tadaaa~
